Information for 2007 SURF Winners: Plant Biology ‘08/ Merida, Mexico

To help in your preparations for travel to Plant Biology 2008, please review the following:

1.Please submit your abstract. This process requires you to pay a $50 abstract submission fee. You will be given an abstract code. The $50 abstract submission fee will be rebated to you by entering this abstract code when you register for the conference.

2. Register for the conference. You can qualify for the $50 student conference registration fee up through March 14th. After this date, the rate is $100. Your $50 abstract submission fee will be applied to the conference registration fee when you enter your abstract code. If you register before the deadline, the $50 abstract submission fee rebate will cover your conference registration completely. If you register after March 14th, you can still use the $50 abstract submission fee rebate to defray the $100 conference registration fee.

3. 2007 SURF winners who have submitted their abstracts for PB ‘08 will automatically receive the $500 travel stipend. The check will be processed by the end of March (earlier if abstract submission and registration are complete). If your mailing address has changed in the last 12 months please email Katie.

4. SURF winners are not eligible for other ASPB travel grants for the conference unless truly extenuating circumstances would prevent a SURF winner from attending. Inquiries for recourse in the case of severe financial hardship should be sent to Katie.
